This Saturday Emily, my dad (culdeedeacon
, my step-mom, and I went to the Celtic Nations Festival in Lake Charles, LA. Dad, Catherine (my step-mom) and I dance Scottish country dance (as I might have mentioned sometime before.) This clip is what Emily took with my camera at the opening ceremony... where we danced to a live band... which while traditional (duh) is not something we've ever done with this current group of dancers. The dance is Balgeddie's Reel... it begins with the first, third, and fifth man (if you've got enough couples) showing off, then the ladies advance forward and there is a "mandatory flirt." The woman scoots off, the man chases... etc. etc. The video starts a little late, so I wanted you to know where the movement begins. There are some pictures to be shown, some will be here later, other will be on my dad's blog: culdeedeacon
P.S. I hope you can recognize me... but if you can't, well... I'm the only college age guy in the group... and dad's the only guy with a hat on.
